Attn: CATIAHotline PLM’er,
When Dassault Created V5 it was under the impression that Drafting was on its way out and Model Based Definition was on its way in. So with that in mind Dassault didn’t put a lot of effort into the Drafting functionality until later on in the release process.
With that in mind there are lots of issues that Dassault has overcome to make the Drafting package as robust as they can. Though they have accomplished a lot there seems to be some things that seem to have been left out. But they are improving on it every day.
So with that out of the way on to the tip / trick for this week. How do I reorder the Drawing Sheets once I have created them?
Answer is Cut and Paste. Right Click over the sheet that you want to reorder and select Cut and then right Click over the Drawing Name and select Paste. This will ‘ReOrder’ the sheet to the bottom of the list.
Try it out and see if you can get the hang of it once you get going on it it is fairly easy.
I asked one time why they don’t allow drag and drop. I was told that they couldn’t do it on Unix and they wanted CATIA to behave the same on both the Windows and the Unix Platform so they didn’t allow it on the Windows Platform.
